Time for bed?

I have a confession to make, I have a real issue with people wearing their pyjamas outside. Don't get me wrong I've done the odd picking someone up from the train station or driving to a friend's house in my jammies. But the number of people (women if I'm honest) I see every day out and about in them really infuriates me. Please tell me I'm not alone in this rage??

However I think it's time I got down off my high horse and explored this sleepwear as day-wear trend...

Pyjama pants were all over the catwalks and are now all over our high streets, so maybe it's about time I took the plunge. I've had a wee nosey around and picked out some of my favourites. I think they'd look great styled with some fab heels, a blazer and a bright white t-shirt for an easy summer look, just steer clear of the slippers and coordinating teddy bear!

Whistles £125 (Good luck finding a pair though!)

So what do you think of pyjama trousers? Will you be wearing them and how will you be styling them? Personally I'm loving the sale bargain of the Warehouse floral lovelies could they be an investment summer buy perhaps?

Monday shoe porn

So this week my best friend and I booked tickets for the upcoming Louboutin exhibition that starts in the design museum in London this May. I'm so excited about it, although worried I'll end up leaving with an overwhelming urge to spend hundreds of pounds on a pair of the red soled lovelies.

Anyway in tribute this week's shoe porn is dedicated to the inimitable Mr Louboutin. I hope these brighten your day as they did mine! Happy Monday!

All of the above are available at Net-A-Porter if you're lucky enough to be able to afford them...

Do you love a Louboutin? Which ones are your favourites?

National no make up day

So apparently today is national no make up day. Have you taken part??

To be honest I didn't know the day existed until about lunchtime today, but even if the day had been marked in my diary and highlighted on my outlook calendar I still wouldn't have been partaking in this particular celebration.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want to sound vain but I love a bit of make up...in fact I pretty much won't leave the house without some on. I know, I know so much for not sounding vain.

You see the thing is, I'm a natural red head. And although I don't have what we like to call "ginger skin" (aka really pale and scattered with freckles) I do have the palest of pale eyelashes and eyebrows. Therefore without my trusty 3 coats of black mascara I look like I'm about 6 years old. I can skip the rest of my make up routine, but without the mascara I'm not going anywhere!

Of course the problem is that once I've got the mascara out I'm as well just putting on a bit of foundation to even up my skin tone, then a bit of bronzer to brighten me up, some blusher for a bit of life...ach just give me the liquid eyeliner and the red lippy!

Ok ok I'll admit it "my name is Paula and I'm a make-up-aholic".

Did you go make up free today??

Monday shoe porn

I'm currently on a spending ban, apparently moving house isn't cheap, who knew?! Every gorgeous dress, handbag or pair of shoes I see I immediately translate into how many sets of curtains or rolls of wallpaper I could buy for the same amount. It's a sad day when you find more pleasure in a new ceiling lamp than a new clutch bag.

Anyway while this self inflicted spending ban is in place I'll just need to entertain myself with some window shopping/dreaming. And this weekend I've been mostly dreaming of these stunning Enigma shoes from Kurt Geiger.

I have no idea where I'd ever wear these shoes, so maybe it's best they stay in dream shoe land. But I love the the metallic toe cap detail and the mule shape. Plus the beautiful pale mint colour really reminds me of the SS12 Louis Vuitton campaign....which therefore means the £140 Kurt Geiger beauties are actually a total bargain!

Spending ban?? What spending ban?!

Champagne o'clock!

So my hubby and I are in the process of buying a new house, we move in 2 weeks and I can't wait! In my head a new house just means a blank canvas to fill with new pretty things, such as this fab print from Rockett St George. Actually I could go crazy on the whole site, but a print might be a good starting point...

I love the sentiment....although I'm not really sure that I want anyone dancing on my new dining table....

What do you think? Must have??

Nails of the day - sex kitten

Sorry for the misleading blog post name...but how much do I love Leighton Denny nail polish in Sex Kitten? As so often happens, I think the name of the colour is doing it for me more than the polish itself but hey, it's still a pretty gorgeous colour. An almost metallic, pearlised silvery blue, it totally changes depending on the light. So as you can imagine, it was a joy to try and take a picture of it...

Anyway, when I first pulled the polish out of my overflowing nail polish drawer I did have a different nail art idea in mind. But once I'd applied two coats I changed my mind and decided to go for some easy polka dots instead. The other design can wait for now.

I used my Models Own, Wah nail art pen for the polka dots. This pen is like the best present I've ever had, thanks to my gorgeous BFF Fiona! I noticed that Models Own have released 3 more colours in the pens this week, I'm waiting for payday so I can buy all 3...I couldn't pick between them all!

Topped off the pretty polka dots with good old Nails Inc caviar top coat.

What do you think? An easy bit of midweek nail art for while the boy watches footy...story of my life!!

Monday shoe porn

So, as anyone who knows me could tell you, shoes are my weakness! Open any cupboard door or drawer in my house and you're sure to find some shoes. So what better way to brighten up a grey Monday than with some shoe porn??

These glittery little beauties are Marc by Marc Jacobs.

In real life I hate rodents... seriously hate them, the thought of them gives me shivers...but in dream shoe world how adorable are the wee mouse faces on these?! Plus they're practical (a girl can never have too many ballet pumps!), sparkly, cute, what's not to love? And they're a total bargain at £220.....ahem! Even a wee lunchtime perv over them on the Harvey Nic's website brightened up my day today. I hope they did the same for you, what do you think?? Do you love them too?

Marni for H&M

What will you be doing this Thursday morning? I know what I'll be doing, fighting to get on to H&M's website to bag myself some of the new Marni for H&M range.

I always have mixed feelings about designer and high street collaborations. Usually when they first come out I'm totally drawn in and obsessed with them but a few weeks later I'm left wondering what all the fuss was about. Case in point the first Versace collection for H&M last year, so tacky it was almost tasteful! I don't really see those studded leggings and tropical prints being wardrobe staples in the long term though....

But the Marni collection has some style classics that I could see having pride of place in my wardrobe for quite some time, especially some of the accessories (my weakness!) with a real sixties feel to the range, it's pretty timeless.

Some of my favourites...

The amazing studded collars, totally torn between the black and the white!

The chunky ribbed leggings, they'd go with EVERYTHING!

Some of the lustworthy prints, I think I might need them all. And I definitely need to book a holiday so I can wear the fab frill trimmed swimsuit.

So what do you think? Will you be joining me on Thursday morning refreshing your browser like a mad woman?

I dream of McQueen

As a shopaholic, and more than that an online-shopaholic, I subscribe to a LOT of newsletters and emails. Each one that drops in to my inbox distracts my mind away for a few seconds and delights me with new offers, promotions and just drop dead gorgeous products. Don't get me wrong the majority of them end up in my delete folder, but a few privileged ones get a wee red flag reminder on them for my to revisit on my lunch break, credit card in hand!

However every now and then an email drops down that lives purely in the realms of fantasy....aka waaay out of my budget, and the kinds of purchases I can only dream of.

Case in point - this week's email from My Theresa. Now don't get me wrong, it's a rare treat when I can actually afford to treat myself to anything from My Theresa, but the possibility of a purchase moves even further away when the products featured are Alexander McQueen lovelies.

The statement piece that caught my eye from the email was this little beauty,

all ruffles and gorgeousness, what's not to love?? Oh, that's right.....the price tag, at £2,240 it costs more than my car's worth!!

But of course that wasn't all, and somewhere between the leopard print skull scarf, the p-midd style dress and the amazing peplum jacket I fell in love.

So now, do I floor my new house or go on a McQueen spree??? I think I know which will win.....

What's on your "it'll never happen" wishlist? Any Alexander McQueen lovelies?
